How We Help

Wallet of Love

Wallet of Love

Our core assistance program is called “Wallets of Love.” Shortly after Lainey’s leukemia diagnosis, the community rallied around the Thomas family and provided them with gift cards for gas, pharmacy, restaurants, grocery store, etc. This was an incredible and immediate help for them, covering the basic necessities to get them through the initial period after diagnosis. Our “Wallets of Love” program does that for our applicants. Approved applicants receive a wallet filled with gift cards for gas, pharmacy, grocery store and convenient restaurants. Our program isn’t just for families with a child fighting cancer. The Thomas family was touched in a unique way, not only did they have a child diagnosed with cancer, but mom, Kelly, was also diagnosed with breast cancer. They understand what it is like from both sides and remain focused on being able to help a variety of different situations.

To qualify, the family just needs to have one or more immediate family members fighting cancer. The Love is Louder Than Cancer Foundation also identifies opportunities to assist families fighting cancer in their local community and works closely with the social workers at area hospitals to connect with families. We are not a big non-profit, our Board of Directors is a 100% volunteer board, so you know that your donation dollars are going to help families, not pay salaries. If you would like more information about our program or an application for assistance, please email us at applications@liltc.org.
